We give our best effort to our work, and we put people first. We're looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.

The New Therapeutic Modalities group (NTM) is an organization within Lilly Research Labs that discovers and develops drugs in novel modality space (including but not limited to RNA, gene and cell therapeutics). We are seeking highly motivated candidates to join a cross-functional group of scientists in the NTM organization in Cambridge, Massachusetts or Indianapolis, Indiana. The selected candidate will develop and utilize cutting edge computational techniques to solve drug discovery and delivery problems in association with scientific teams.

Do you have a proven track record in developing novel computational chemistry / cheminformatics methods with a demonstrated impact on drug discovery research? We want you on our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Generate computational models to help improve potency, direct novel chemistry and target delivery.
  • Apply computational techniques such as docking, molecular dynamics simulations, homology modeling, free energy perturbation, QM, structure searches, and virtual screening to solve discovery research problems.
  • Apply scientific and technical insight to develop and apply in-silico approaches for the analysis and utilization of large scale data to improve the project team decisions
  • Develop a deep understanding and practical, working knowledge of computational modeling software suites such as MOE, Maestro, AMBER, Macromodel, and Gaussian to apply to computational research.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of medicinal chemists, biologists, statisticians, ADME and toxicologists to provide computational expertise to advance drug discovery projects.
  • Contribute to the development of web applications for NTM scientists by developing scripts or workflows for efficient use of software and subsequent training of workflows.

Basic Requirements:

PhD in computational chemistry, computer sciences or a related field

Additional Preference:

  • Proficient programming and scripting skills
